Earlier this month, Harvard Office for the Arts celebrated five decades of student art making. President Alan Garber spoke during the festivities, sharing his love of photography and movies with a packed Sanders Theater audience.
“I think this is something art does for all of us,” said Garber. “The aperture, once open, tends to open wider, tends to let in more work—done in more ways—by more artists. And each encounter causes us to see and appreciate the world in a different way, to see and appreciate people in different ways.”
The Feb. 13 event featured student groups including Harvard Undergraduate Bhangra, Harvard University Band, Omo Naija X Wahala Boys, First-Year Musical, Kuumba Singers of Harvard College and the Harvard Choruses, Mariachi Véritas de Harvard, Harvard RAZA Folklórico, The Handsome Boys and the Pickin’ Band.
