Dear Members of the Harvard Community,
Today is National Voter Registration Day, which offers an opportunity for each of us to reflect on the rights and responsibilities of citizenship. If you are eligible to vote in the upcoming election, I encourage you to confirm your voter registration status; register to vote, if necessary; and make plans to cast your ballot by mail or in person. For resources on each of these topics and others related to the democratic process, please visit the Harvard Votes Challenge.
As November 5 approaches, scholars across the University who explore many different aspects of democracy, governance, and public policy will offer their expertise and insight both on and off campus. I am grateful to them for deepening and strengthening understanding at a consequential time for our country, and I hope that all of us can find opportunities to engage with their excellent work leading up to Election Day.
Sincerely,
Alan M. Garber
