An American flag flying in front of University Hall in Harvard Yard was lowered by a University facilities staff member at 4pm on Monday, Nov. 13, consistent with daily routine, Harvard University Police Department and University officials have confirmed. In line with University procedures, the American flag is raised in front of University Hall each Monday through Friday at 7 a.m. and lowered at 4 p.m., for proper storage. While a video posted on social media channels shows that the flag was lowered while protesters were present in Harvard Yard, we can confirm it was lowered by Harvard staff consistent with standard daily practice.
